Welcome to Momentum Climbing’s introduction to training series, episode one will show you how to use the System Wall available at Momentum Millcreek. The System Wall is an adjustable-angle wall for training specific moves and grips. With three grip levels and six angle adjustments the System Wall is a great tool for progressively challenging a climber of any level. Beginning climbers can use the adjustable steepness to progressively introduce themselves to more challenging angles. Advanced climbers can use the System Wall for specific power and power-endurance exercises to address their weaknesses. MoTraining: Poutre Super Sets

The Poutre (putR) or Beam has been used by French climbers for decades to specifically target weaknesses, develop fitness and monkey around with their friends. Noah Bigwood, long time climber, coach and Momentum’s beam craftsman will teach how best to incorporate our new beam into your training routine. This video introduces the idea of super sets which are quick training circuits which can be incorporated into your typical climbing session or used when time is limited. The routine can be tailored to all fitness and experience levels.

This video introduces some finger training ideas to do on the Poutre including how to increase contact strength and the proper technique for training with one arm hangs. Always properly warm up prior to any training routine.
